This is the first of two releases we have from the Quebraditas Farm and couldn't be more pumped to release it. The producer, Edinson Argote, is an ambitious innovator whose career is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of coffee craftsmanship.
His journey began with a focus on sensory analysis, leading him to train and gain experience on Colombia's most innovative farms. He specialized in advanced processing control before establishing Quebraditas Coffee Farm. Here, Edinson and his family cultivate exotic varieties like Gesha, Bourbon Sidra, and Ombligon - blending tradition with cutting-edge techniques to produce exceptional coffees.
Orange Bourbon: Advanced Washed Process
This Orange Bourbon cultivar, a rare variation that ripens to a vibrant orange hue, stands as a testament to Edinson’s mastery of advanced processing.
While fundamentally a washed coffee, its tropical character is achieved through a highly technical approach. The process includes the use of "thermal shock" utilizing a bioreactor, alongside a "re-stabilization" experiment during fermentation.
This method transforms the traditional washed profile, yielding a cup that transcends typical expectations. This coffee immediately stood out on the cupping table and without hesitation we said that's the one and purchased it on the spot. The clarity of this coffee is phenomenal and the immense citrus notes stand out right away. We can't wait for you to try this first coffee of 2026.
